If you're a seasoned papercraft enthusiast, many of you will surely remember paper crafts like Heart Gear, Cube Gear, or Penguin Bomb. These are all creations of Haruki Nakamura, the artist behind entertaining works of paper craft. His goal is to create pieces that once seen, are unforgettable.
His work falls under the category of paper engineering (kamikara), a term not widely known in Japan. Since 2019 and continuing to the present, Nakamura has released a new free papercraft every year with the theme corresponding to the zodiac sign of that year, incorporating various paper techniques. This year, 2024 being the Year of the Dragon, his latest creation is a dragon that can interestingly change its length.
