Hello, fellow creators of Paper Iconic! Are you ready for another exciting project today?
Do you remember Aira Shiratori from the anime Dandadan? That confident, slightly chaotic personality paired with a distinctly stylish presence makes her a character that is hard to overlook. Today, that familiar image returns in a softer and more playful direction, as she is reimagined in a pink maid outfit through a papercraft project I am excited to share with you.
Designed by hbr_ppkr296, this model captures Aira in a charming maid costume with a pleated skirt and gentle color palette. The contrast between her expressive anime-style head and the layered dress gives the figure a lively, almost storybook-like presence once completed.
The model stands at 23 cm tall and is made up of 170 parts distributed across 4 sheets of paper. It is designed for double-sided printing, which helps preserve details across both visible and folded surfaces. The project includes both PDO and PNG files, giving you flexibility in how you approach the build. The PDO file is especially helpful for understanding part placement and adjusting scale if needed, while the PNG files are ready for direct printing.
In terms of building experience, this is a fairly approachable project with a satisfying level of detail. The outfit itself carries that classic aesthetic, focusing on clean shapes and recognizable character elements rather than overwhelming complexity.
From the perspective of Paper Iconic, there is one aspect worth paying attention to. The proportions between the upper body, arms, and the rest of the figure feel slightly unbalanced. The torso and arms appear a bit smaller compared to the large anime-style head and the volume of the skirt, which makes them look somewhat reduced in presence. This becomes even more noticeable once the model is fully assembled. A more balanced proportion would likely improve the overall visual harmony. Additionally, the fingers can be quite tricky to assemble, so expect a bit of patience during that stage.

The project is available for free on hbr’s BOOTH store, where you can also find several other papercraft designs that are well worth a look. It is a great chance to explore more of the creator’s style beyond this Aira Shiratori model.
