The S.S. Oriana was a magnificent ocean liner that operated by the British shipping company Orient Line and later P&O (Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company). Launched on November 3, 1959, and completed in 1960, she was one of the last great ocean liners built in Britain. Oriana was designed for both transatlantic crossings and world cruises, offering passengers the opportunity to explore various destinations in comfort and style.

Oriana measured approximately 41,915 tons and featured a distinctive white hull and a gracefully curved superstructure. Her interior was lavishly appointed, with a grand dining room, spacious lounges, and luxurious cabins. Passengers could enjoy a range of amenities, including swimming pools, a theater, a casino, and various bars and restaurants.

Throughout her service, the S.S. Oriana conducted numerous world cruises, offering travelers the chance to circumnavigate the globe in unparalleled elegance. She was also a popular choice for transatlantic voyages between the UK and North America, catering to both holidaymakers and emigrants.

Sadly, the age of the ocean liner was on the decline in the late 20th century due to the growing popularity of air travel and the emergence of cruise ships. In 1986, after 26 years of service, the S.S. Oriana was retired from active duty and eventually sold for scrap in 2005, marking the end of an era in ocean travel.

Despite her retirement, the S.S. Oriana remains a beloved and iconic vessel in the history of maritime transportation, remembered for her elegance, luxury, and contributions to the world of travel and exploration.

The S.S. Oriana paper model was created by Japanese designer Senaum and includes a set of development drawings comprising seven sheets, along with accompanying assembly instructions depicted through images.
