Hello, fellow creators of Paper Iconic! Are you ready for another exciting project today?
Some papercraft projects exist simply as display models, while others allow viewers to truly feel the creator’s passion for the character and the world they love. The Fugue for Dawn Luca Balsa diorama papercraft by Identity V fan @Karinn_art_de definitely belongs to the second category.
Created by Karinn, a 25-year-old papercraft enthusiast from Germany, this ambitious fan art project was inspired by the Limited S-Tier Costume “Fugue for Dawn” of Luca Balsa from Identity V. The diorama combines two of Karinn’s greatest passions: the world of Identity V and the craft of papercutting shaped by a highly personal artistic style.
What impressed Paper Iconic the most is not only the central character itself, but the entire ruined environment recreated around Luca. Just one look at the collapsed spiral staircase reveals the enormous amount of work invested into the project. Cracks across the stone surfaces, moss spreading along the edges of the stairs, scattered debris beneath the structure, and patches of grass growing between the ruins were all recreated with remarkable attention to detail.
The fallen archway is another visually striking highlight. Broken columns reduced to their foundations, vines wrapping around shattered structures, and part of a forgotten statue resting beneath the staircase give the entire diorama the feeling of an ancient ruin slowly being reclaimed by nature. These are exactly the kinds of environmental details many papercraft fan art projects avoid because of the time and effort required, yet Karinn poured almost all of her dedication into them.
In fact, the project requires a total of 33 sheets of paper to complete, but only 4 of those sheets are used for Luca Balsa himself. Most of the remaining pages are dedicated entirely to the environment and background elements. That alone clearly shows that the creator’s focus was not simply building the character, but recreating the complete atmosphere and thematic identity of the Fugue for Dawn costume from the game.
Although there are still a few minor anatomical proportion issues when viewed closely, this remains an extremely ambitious and highly admirable papercraft fan art project overall. The patience shown in recreating aged stone textures, moss-covered ruins, collapsed architecture, and layered depth makes the model feel closer to a display artwork than an ordinary papercraft build.
The finished diorama measures approximately 35 x 29 x 23 cm, making it large enough to become the centerpiece of any Identity V fan collection.
The template is available for free in high-quality PNG and PDO formats. The PDO file alone is around 150 MB, while all PNG files combined reach nearly 300 MB. However, if converted into a PDF package, the total size can be reduced to around 43 MB, making storage and printing much more convenient.
