Hello, fellow creators of Paper Iconic! Are you ready for another exciting project today?
Today I’m bringing the Fresh Fish Head papercraft from the game Splatoon 3, shared by @megumiosamusi. Splatoon 3 is a fast-paced ink shooter and is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch. I still regret not having a Switch, so I have not had the chance to experience the game myself. But the review scores on major gaming sites are very positive, and I hope I can experience the game myself one day.
In this colorful world, the Fresh Fish is a mascot character, essentially a parody of Mickey Mouse with an oversized animal head and white gloves.
This is also why I find this papercraft project interesting. This Fresh Fish Head model seems to be Osamu’s first papercraft project. He's a passionate gamer who wanted to turn his beloved Fresh Fish Head into a real-life papercraft. The template is a PDF and needs two sheets of paper. When finished, the model is about 15 cm long, perfect for your palm!
Osamu also recorded the full assembly process and uploaded it to YouTube, marking the start of his creator journey. With this first project completed, it is likely we will see more papercraft work from him in the future.
This project is receiving warm support from the Japanese player community, the home of Nintendo. Even though I have not played Splatoon 3, I enjoy the feeling of connection between the game and papercraft. Projects like this Fresh Fish help me feel part of the cheerful atmosphere of the game.
