Hey, creators! Ready to craft something iconic today?

Japan never fails to surprise us with its quirky fascinations, and their love for "unko" (poop) is no exception! From keychains and lucky charms to entire museums, this unusual theme has inspired countless creations—including Unko Sensei, a character designed to make learning Kanji more fun for kids.

Unko Sensei – The Quirky Teacher Helping Kids Learn Kanji

Kanji (Chinese characters) is an essential yet daunting part of the Japanese language, especially for children. To make learning over 1,000 Kanji characters less intimidating, a friendly and humorous teacher named Unko Sensei was introduced! With his signature glasses and mustache, Unko Sensei became a sensation, leading to the Unko Kanji book series, which sold over 1.83 million copies, helping Japanese students embrace Kanji with enthusiasm.

Unko Sensei Paper Toy – A Cute and Fun Papercraft!

Recently, Bunkyosha Publishing collaborated with papercraft artist J_cube to create two Unko Sensei paper toy models. Each version requires only two sheets of paper, features double-sided printing, and comes with illustrated assembly instructions.

  2. Unko Sensei AED Paper Toy: Take on a mini-game challenge to download!

Join Unko Sensei AED in raising awareness about SCA, CPR, and AED in a fun way!

The AED version of Unko Sensei requires players to answer 10 quiz questions before downloading—but don’t worry, you don’t have to get them all right! But what is AED? It stands for Automated External Defibrillator, a life-saving device that revived footballer Christian Eriksen after his sudden cardiac arrest during the opening match of Euro 2020.

Sudden cardiac arrest can strike anyone, anywhere. Immediate CPR and AED use can greatly improve survival chances. This papercraft isn’t just fun—it spreads life-saving knowledge!

Without oxygen, brain cells begin to die within minutes. CPR keeps blood flowing while the AED assesses and shocks if needed. Every minute without resuscitation lowers survival odds by 10%, highlighting the urgency of quick action in an emergency.

Grab the Unko Sensei Paper Toy template today and dive into some crafting fun! Big shoutout to Bunkyosha Publishing and J_cube for teaming up to bring this cool project to life!
