In her demon state, Nezuko's eyes change to a bright pink instead of the original deep red. She wears a light pink kimono with an asanoha (hemp leaf) pattern, the lining a paler pink, secured by a red and white-checkered hanhaba obi with an orange-threaded obijime and a green obiage. Over this, she sports a long, dark-brown haori that reaches her calves, as well as a pair of zōri with pink straps and white tabi socks, wrapped with thick pieces of black material resembling kyahan. Nezuko also wears a small pink ribbon on the left side of her head to keep her hair out of her face, along with the bamboo muzzle Giyu Tomioka gave her, which is secured around her jaw with a strip of red cloth.
Nezuko in Demon Slayer is the second youngest sibling in a family of six children, with Tanjiro being the eldest. As the eldest daughter, she is highly responsible. She helped her mother take care of the younger siblings and did household chores while Tanjiro went down the mountain to sell charcoal. When Tanjiro wanted to give her money to buy new clothes, she refused and instead used the money to buy food for the family. She wanted everyone to be well-fed and happy.
When the demons attacked the Kamado family, Nezuko was the only one who survived, but she was tragically transformed into a demon. Tanjiro believed that even though Nezuko had become a demon, she would not harm humans. He joined the Demon Slayer Corps with the hope of slaying demons and helping Nezuko become human again.
As a human, Nezuko was kind, thoughtful, and always put others before herself. After becoming a demon, she lost some of her human memories, but her subconscious was still family-oriented. She always cared for and protected her brother and later, those she considered family, such as the Demon Slayer Corps and other humans. In the manga, the author also revealed that Nezuko’s future husband is Agatsuma Zenitsu.
