NASA's Quesst mission is paving the way for a new era of commercial supersonic air travel over land with the groundbreaking X-59 aircraft. This innovative mission aims to demonstrate how the X-59 can fly supersonic without producing the loud sonic booms that have historically restricted such flights over land. Instead, the X-59 will create a quieter sonic "thump," potentially revolutionizing air travel by significantly reducing flight times.

In a significant milestone, NASA and Lockheed Martin unveiled the X-59 on January 12, 2024, at a ceremony in California. This experimental aircraft is designed to transform supersonic travel, thanks to its unique shape that alters shockwaves to produce a gentle sonic "thump." To engage the public and inspire future engineers, NASA's education team has introduced the X-59 Maker Bundle, which includes an exciting X-59 Paper Model activity.

Join us in this hands-on experience and be part of this supersonic journey! The X-59 Maker Bundle is perfect for students and enthusiasts of all ages. Available in both English and Spanish, this bundle provides an opportunity to build your own X-59 Paper Model and learn about the technology shaping the future of aviation. Let’s build together and explore the world of supersonic flight!
