In the manga/anime "Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko," Erio Towa is Makoto's first cousin and the daughter of Meme. One day, when coming home from school, she mysteriously disappeared for six months only to be found floating in the sea with no memories of what had taken place at all. Erio develops an intense fascination with aliens and convinces herself that she is an alien investigator observing humans.
After an incident where she broke her leg while attempting to fly on her bike, Erio adopts the habit of constantly wrapping herself in a futon. Her mother, Meme, ignores her and pretends she doesn't exist. Despite this, Erio gradually accepts her human identity, reducing her use of the futon to moments of discomfort. She begins engaging in more typical human activities, such as going to work and playing baseball.
When not wrapped in her futon, Erio wears a school uniform from her time attending school. However, she wears it in a disheveled manner, with a loose bow tie and only half-worn shirt. She is always barefoot, even when outdoors.
