In the vast expanse of the maritime world, where grandeur and glamour often steal the spotlight, there exists a humble yet indispensable hero: the tugboat. These unassuming vessels play a vital role in ensuring safe and efficient navigation through challenging waters, making them the unsung heroes of the maritime industry.

The "Fairplay V" harbor tugboat is a formidable vessel designed to assist larger ships in navigating through congested ports and tight waterways. What sets it apart is its exceptional power and maneuverability. Equipped with robust engines and state-of-the-art winches, the "Fairplay" can exert precise force to push, pull, or stabilize massive ships, ensuring safe passage even in the most challenging conditions.

The original paper model of the Fairplay V tugboat was designed by Hubert Siegmund at a 1:50 scale and published by JFSchreiber-Verlag, Esslingen in 1965. The AGK publication provided a free scan of it on their website in 2017. Rudolf Voigt and Jürgen Rathert continued to collaborate on designing missing parts based on actual images of the real ship. Currently, all these components are available for download.

The Fairplay V Tugboat paper model, built by Rudolf Voigt, was voted 2nd place by the readers of the "ModellWerft" magazine in 2022. This is undoubtedly one of the paper models worth considering for maritime enthusiasts.
