With its large range and high speed, the P-51 was key to the Allied bombing raid strategy during World War II.

The P-51 Mustang is considered one of the best fighters of World War II because its combination of speed, range, maneuverability and firepower gives it great versatility. This is a weapon used in all major missions of war, such as long-range escort, bombardment and image reconnaissance.

When World War II broke out in 1939, the British government ordered a large number of North American fighters to supplement the Royal Air Force, after being unable to purchase Curtiss P-40 Warhawk aircraft. Based on the Allison V-1710 engine of the P-40, North American engineers built the P-51 Mustang in just 117 days due to an urgent British need.

This mini P-51 Mustang paper model is a miniature of the plane flown by Captain Ed Toppins during World War II. Toppins was one of the most decorated pilots of the squadron known as the "Tuskegee Airmen". The template was designed by designer Zio Prudenziati. Tuskegee pilots are often referred to as "Red Tails" due to the distinctive tail color of their aircraft.
