The Gundam AGE-1 Normal is a mobile suit from the anime series "Mobile Suit Gundam AGE." It is the main protagonist's initial mobile suit and serves as the base form for later variations.
The AGE-1 Normal was developed by the Earth Federation's military organization, the Earth Federation Forces, during the Advanced Generation (AG) timeline. It was designed as a versatile and adaptable mobile suit capable of being piloted by individuals with little to no combat experience. The AGE-1 Normal is part of the AGE System, a modular mobile suit technology that allows for easy customization and upgrading.
In its base form, the AGE-1 Normal features a balanced set of abilities suitable for various combat situations. It is equipped with a beam rifle, beam sabers, and shield, providing both ranged and melee combat capabilities. The suit also possesses the ability to utilize a wear system, which allows it to change into different configurations known as "Wear Parts" for enhanced performance.
As the story progresses, the AGE-1 Normal undergoes several upgrades and transformations, such as the AGE-1 Titus, AGE-1 Sparrow, and AGE-1 Razor. These variations offer different combat capabilities and are optimized for specific combat scenarios.
The AGE-1 Normal plays a significant role in the anime, piloted by Flit Asuno in the first generation, followed by his son, Asemu Asuno, in the second generation, and finally, his grandson, Kio Asuno, in the third generation. Throughout the series, it evolves alongside its pilots, reflecting their growth and experiences.
Korean paper artist Hyunseong Lee, also known as Golden Glue or G2 Paper, has released a free Gundam AGE-1 Normal paper model. A model of about 40 sheets of paper with a full gun, shield, and stand base comes with a video tutorial.
