This exquisite paper replica of the Gunboat Marques Del Duero was crafted by Jesus Maria López, a Spanish designer and modeler associated with the Los Barcos de Papel website. Spanning two paper sheets, its dimensions make it ideal for incorporation into Dioramas, RPGs, and Wargames.
The Gunboat Marques Del Duero was a Spanish naval vessel of the Fernando el Catolico class that played a role in the Battle of Manila Bay during the Spanish–American War. Constructed in 1875 in France, Marques Del Duero served in various capacities, including patrolling, blockading, and even engaging Moro and Tagalog pirates in Borneo in 1895. Participating in the significant naval engagement in Manila Bay in 1898, Marques Del Duero sustained damage and was subsequently salvaged, repaired, and upgraded by a U.S. Navy team. It briefly served in the U.S. Navy under the designation USS P-17 before being decommissioned and scrapped in 1900.
